Introduction
The base spectrometer alone is not sufficient to measure a Raman signal. In addition to the base spectrometer, you need to couple a cuvette holder. We propose different cuvette holder systems, depending on the nature of the sample (liquid, solid, gaseous, turbid...).
A cuvette holder system usualy comprises an achromatic lens to focus the laser light onto the sample and re-collimated the scattered light back to the system. When designing your own cuvette systems, we recommend using a Thorlabs AC-127-019-A lens to match the one used in the re-imaging path.
We recommend starting with the standard liquid cuvette because it is the easiest to operate and confines the laser beam properly during operation, making it safer to use with students.
